Props
We used paracetamol to show a drug being taken. This was appropriate because it didn’t have a massive effect on the actress, whereas using a drug pill would be unsuitable. Also, it would be unsuitable to advertise a harmful drug which had a class, as we would have to consider our age rating.
At the end of our short film we created enigma by showing an image of a mother figure on a phone. We used an iPhone as the footage was filmed outside therefore unable to have a picture frame shown, which was the original idea. This was due to scheldule issues. To show this image naturally, we set it as the protagonist's home background.
We used the button bag to hold the paracetamol drug that the protagonist Hannah takes. The use of a clear bag makes our film introdution more effective as we can see what content protagonist is contempleting taking.
In our short film introduction we choose to use 3 props. This was a consicentious decision as we felt that the use of 3 props linked to our chosen genre of social realism. Social Realism films tend to be low budget, therefore we felt that using 3 props would help to emphasis our chosen genre.
